ABOUT
My Perspective
As a photographer, being behind a camera is my creative outlet - something that fuels a deeper passion for exploring the world. I love isolating what I see in front of me in a piece of time and space - being able to draw out the image that originally struck me, at that moment, and preserve it has always brought me joy. Many of my images are square, as I enjoy the symmetry, as well as the challenge it provides. Fitting what I see in the confines of a square forces me to shoot from different angles and points of view - most of what I photograph is done so through a less than “traditional” perspectives.
I rarely shoot with a traditional camera - although I own one and enjoy having to relearn it from time to time. It has been reinforced in me that it isn’t the camera that makes the photograph or the photographer, but the photographer and how they use the tools at their disposal. This mindset has made photography accessible to me - use what you have and draw beauty out of the world where you see it.
The vast majority of my work is shot with an iPhone and Moment lens - that work is then printed on wood versus the more traditional paper or canvas. This makes each individual image unique, given the differences in each piece of wood that is used.
